Scientific writing

The chair provides a Word- as well as a LaTeX-template for the preparation of academic papers. Important information on what we believe is important in a thesis is listed in detail in the word template. There you will find a detailed explanation of the expected structure, formatting, citation style and similar.

Note on the LaTeX template: The template is provided via the Share-LaTeX "Overleaf". You have the two options on how to use the template. Either you create a copy of the template in your own Share-LaTeX directory or you download the ZIP-archive. Both options are available via the link above. You can download the ZIP-archive by accessing "Menu" (top left corner) in Overleaf.

As support in using LaTeX as well in the installation of TeXstudio you can find helping documents in the preceding links.

For quantitative work we recommend the usage of Visual Studio Code, Python and Gurobi. If you use a Laptop with MacOS, we advise to install Anaconda as Distributor.

To aid with setting everything up and to ensure that everything runs smoothly we provide a detailed instruction.
