Objectives and contents:

Students acquire advanced knowledge of the interrelationships and approaches of production planning. They deepen their understanding of applicable solution methods and develop the ability to model corresponding planning tasks and solve them independently using suitable methods. Students gain an insight into the processes and challenges of decision support in operations management.
Contents include tactical and operational problems in production planning and suitable methods for solving them. This
concerns in particular
- Demand forecasting
- Inventory management & dynamic order quantity planning
- Batch size planning & machine allocation planning
- Supply chain management
- Heuristics and problem-specific methods
